Industrialization

Innovation The action or process of innovating .
Infrastructure The basic physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the operation of a society or enterprise.
Weaving Form by interlacing long threads passing in one direction with others at a right angle to them.
James Hargreaves He was a weaver, carpenter and inventor in Lancashire, England. He was also one of three inventors responsible for mechanizing spinning.
Spinning Jenny A machine for spinning with more than one spindle at a time, patented by James Hargreaves in 1770.
Richard Arkwright He was an inventor and a leading entrepreneur during the early Industrial Revolution.
Water frame The water frame is the name given to a spinning frame, when water is used to drive it.
Edmund Cartwright He was an English inventor. He graduated from Oxford University very early and went on to invent the power loom.
Power Loom A mechanised loom powered by a line shaft, and was one of the key developments in the industrialization of weaving during the early Industrial Revolution.
James Watt a derived unit of power in the Internaltional System of Units named after the Scottish engineer James Watt.
