total was a war that is unrestricted in terms of the weapons used, the territory or combatants involved, or the objectives pursued, especially one in which the laws of war are disregarded.
trench warfare a type of combat in which opposing troops fight from trenches facing each other.
mobilization is the act of assembling and making both troops and supplies ready for war. The word mobilization was first used, in a military context, in order to describe the preparation of the Russian army during the 1850s and 1860s.
nationalism patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts.
militarism the belief or desire of a government or people that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests.
conscription compulsory enlistment for state service, typically into the armed forces.
fascist an advocate or follower of fascism
