QuestionAnswer
What is the Holocaust? Period where Nazi Germany tried to kill all of the Jews in their land. They killed over 6 million Jews.
What is a covenant? It is a sacred and holy promise. Abraham made a covenant with God.
What is monotheism? The belief that there is a single God.
What is a Rabbi? It is a teacher of the Jewish faith. He is also the head of a synagogue.
What is a synagogue? A holy place of worship for Jews. It is a temple where the Jews will worship.
What is the Sabbath? A holy day of worship where no work is done. It is Saturday for Jews and Sunday for Christians.
What is the Exodus? The story of how Moses led the Hebrews out of slavery from the Egyptians
What is the Torah? The holy book for Judaism - essentially the Old Testament of the Bible.
What is the diaspora? The long history of the Hebrews/Jews being forced out of their "homeland" or the "promised land"
What is a drought? Long period of no rain. Drove Joseph's brothers to Egypt.
What are ethics? Set of moral principles or values.
