What are some variables that influence the differences in disposition and response to medications? Differences in age, weight, genetics, and gender.
What three things are different in neonates and infants? Drug distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
Why are these processes different for them? Their organ systems aren't fully developed, so they cannot eliminate drugs as effectively as adults.
Children metabolize certain drugs slower or faster than adults? Faster
Numerous studies have shown that the presence of disease can do what? Alter the disposition and effect of some drugs in some people.
