QuestionAnswer
Drugs produce either two effects in the body. What are they? Desired or undesired.
When most drugs produce an effect, they interacting at what level with what material? A molecular level with cellular material.
Blood concentrations are the result of what four simultaneously occurring processes? Absorption, distribution, metabolism, an excretion.
Besides the four ADME processes, what's a critical factor of drug concentration and effect? How drugs move through biological membranes.
Biological membranes are complex structures made of what? Lipids (fats) and proteins.
What does distribution involve? The movement of a drug within the body once the drug as reached the blood.
Drug metabolism refers to what? The body's process of transforming drugs.
How are most drugs excreted? In the urine by the kidneys.
