We Pray in Many Ways

Prayers in which we tell God that he alone is God are prayer of Praise
Prayers in which we acknowledge God to be the Creator are prayers of blessing and adoration
Prayers of intercession ask God for others' needs
Prayers of thanksgiving thank God for the gift of holiness, our salvation, and creation
In prayers of petition we ask God for forgiveness, help for ourselves, and all our needs
When we pray we talk with God in many ways
A prayer through which we give t hanks to God for the gifts he has given us is a prayer of thanksgiving
A prayer through which we ask for God's forgiveness and for help in all our needs is a prayer of petition

A prayer in which we quietly sit and focus on God's loving closeness to us is called contemplative prayer

The Holy Land is the name we give to places where Jesus lived and died
A city in the Holy Land is Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Jerusalem
Each year Christians make pilgrimages to the Holy Land
Our imagination helps us pray a prayer of meditation
