TermDefinition
Just War St Thomas Aquinas helped develop this idea. A war that the Christian Church defines as acceptable: this must fit certain criteria.
Holy war Fighting for a religious cause or God. Probably controlled by a religious leader.
Civil war – When a country begins to fight against itself. Different groups want power or change.
Lesser Jihad – the struggle to defend/ protect Islam
greater Jihad - the personal struggle to be a good Muslim
Civilians People who are not soldiers
