What did tribunes protect? The rights of the Plebeians from unfair acts of Patrician officials.

What is the definition of the 12 Tables & its purpose? It is a written law code... They established the idea that all free citizens, particians, and plebeians had a right to the protection of the law.

How did trade & wealth decline in Rome? Hostile tribes and pirates disrupted trade; wars were frequent and costly; wealthy spent money on imports which drained the empire of gold and silver. Empires expansion ended-no new sources of precious metals.
What was the biggest problem the Roman Empire faced? Loyalty was a key problem, perhaps the most serious.
