| culture | the beliefs, customs, language and arts of a particular society, group, place, or time |
| cultural diffusion | the spread of culture traits from one region to another |
| environment | the land, water, climate, plants and animals of an area; surroundings; natural world |
| geography | the study of the world, its people, and the landscapes they create |
| globe | an object that is shaped like a large ball with a map of the world on it; the Earth |
| human geography | the study of the world’s people, communities and landscapes |
| landscape | all the human and physical features that make a place unique |
| map | a flat drawing that shows all or part of Earth’s surface |
| physical geography | the study of the world’s physical features-its landforms, bodies of water, climates, soils, and plants |
| region | a part of a country, of the world, etc., that is different or separate from other parts in some way |
| trait | quality that makes one person or thing different from another |
