ascendancy occupation of a position of dominant power or influence

khan a title given to rulers and officials in central Asia, Afghanistan, and certain other Muslim countries.
Genghis Khan (1162–1227), founder of the Mongol empire; born Temujin. He took the name Genghis Khan ('ruler of all') in 1206 after uniting the nomadic Mongol tribes, and by the time of his death his empire extended from China to the Black Sea.
catapult A catapult is a ballistic device used to launch a projectile a great distance without the aid of explosive devices—particularly various types of ancient and medieval siege engines.
Kublai Khan Kublai Khan, born Kublai and also known by the temple name Shizu, was the fifth Khagan of the Mongol Empire, reigning from 1260 to 1294, although it was only nominally due to the division of the empire.
Marco Polo Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant traveller whose travels are recorded in Livres des merveilles du monde, a book that introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China.
