Ancient greece vocab

TermDefinition
Peninsula a piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water.
Crete Greece's largest island, is known for its varied terrain, which ranges from fine-sand beaches at Elafonisi to the White Mountains.
Mycenae An archaeological site in Greece, located about 90 kilometres southwest of Athens, in the north-eastern Peloponnese.
Agamemnon Greek hero/god.
Peloponnesus Is a peninsula and geographic region in southern Greece.
Colonies a country or area under the full or partial political control of another country, typically a distant one, and occupied by settlers from that country
Polis A large structure usually on a hill above the city or town.
Agora (in ancient Greece) a public open space used for assemblies and markets.
