What is the action called that decreases the angle of a joint? Flexion.
What is the action that straightens or increases the angle of a joint? Extension.
What's the movement away from median plane? Abduction.
What's the movement toward the median plane? Adduction.
What's the lateral rotation of forearm? Supination.
What's the medial rotaion of the forearm? Pronation.
What's the movement of pointing the toes to the ground? Plantar flexion.
What's the movement of pointing the toes upward? Dorsiflexion.
What's the movement of turning up the medial edge of the foot? Inversion.
What's the movement of turning up the lateral edge of the foot? Eversion.
What is the distal rotation that imitates a cone-shaped R.O.M.? Circumduction.
What's the movement that the bone moves around it's own central axis? Rotation.
What's the action of lifting/raising a body part from its anatomical position? Elevation.
What's the action of lowering/dropping a body part from its anatomical position? Depression.
What's the action of moving a body part forward from anatomical position? Protraction.
What's the action of moving a body part backward from anatomical position? Retraction.
