mestizo a blended ethnic group of indigenous (native) and European resulting from the Colombian Exchange
Mulatto a blended ethnic group of mixed African and European resulting from the Colombian Exchange and Triangle Slave Trade
Triangular Slave Trade The movement of slaves from Africa to the Americas, raw materials to Europe, and finished products to Africa across the Atlantic Ocean because the indigenous slaves had died from war and disease.
Colombian Exchange The exchange of plants, animals, people and disease from both the Old World to the New World across the Atlantic.
Moctezuma II Last Aztec leader that thought Cortes was a god
Atahualpa Last ruler of the Inca that tried to buy his freedom (his life) with a room full of gold
Quipu an Incan record of knotted strings
Hernan Cortes Spanish conquistador that conquered the Aztec with a small army of men, guns, horses and disease.
Fransisco Pizarro Spanish conquistador that conquered the Inca with a small army of men, guns, horses and disease.
Small Pox Disease that killed many indigenous people in Latin America and causing Europeans to begin buying salves from Africa.
Conquistador a Spanish warrior/explorer or conquerer
Spanish Main language of most of Latin America
Portuguese Main language of Brazil
Catholic The main religion practiced in the Latin America
African Slaves Were brought to the New World from Africa to work on plantations when the indigenous slaves had died from disease or war.
