Immune System

Vocab words for the test

TermDefinition
Immune Made of cells, tissues, and other organ. Protects body from infection.
Pathogen Bad germs, disease-causing.
Clia Hair like processes on the surfaces of many cells. Creates movement.
Reflexes An automatic response to a stimulus.
White Blood Cells- Leukocytes Defend body against infection. Disease fighting specialists= pus.
Lymphocytes Type of white blood cell.
B-Lymphocytes Produces antibodies.
T-Lymphocytes Look for pathogens in the body that are hiding an then they kill them. No production of antibodies. Kills germs by cell-to cell contact. Makes up of 80% of Lymphocytes.
Antibodies Protein to fight disease.
