| Examples of legumes | Alfalfa, clover, vetch, soybeans |
| Examples of grass | Brome, Timothy, tell fescue, orchard grass |
| Two types of concentrates | Energy, protein |
| Examples of energy concentrates | Corn, barley, oats, wheat, potato, molasses |
| Examples of protein concentrates | Soybean meal, cottonseed meal, brewer's grains |
