Rural-urban patterns When people move from an rural place o an urban place
Place utility How much someone likes the place they live in
Activity space Things that happen on a daily basis
Personal space An area around a person
Space-time prism How far and how fast a person get within their bodily limits (food, sleep)
Distance decay How an idea gets less important the farther away it is from the origin
Step migration When people stay at different places while going to their intended place of staying
Chain migration When a family moves to a place where they already have family
Intervening opportunity Something that make a place seem not as nice
Cyclic movement A route people take annually or seasonally
Migratory movement When people cross borders looking for jobs (Mexicans)
Periodic movement When people move to a place for a short period of time (college)
Transhumance The seasonal migration of livestock
Pull factors Something that pulls people to a location
