scribe | a person who copies or writes out documents; often a record keeper |
province | a territory governed as a political district of a country or empire |
civilization | A civilization is an advanced state of human society. Typically a civilization is marked by advanced government, agriculture, science, and culture. |
Hammurabi | A Babylonian king who created the world's first know written code of law |
An eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth | People often refer to Hammurabi's code of law; the idea is that there is a logical and similar consequence to whatever the broken law was |
Sargon | An Akkadian king who unified the city-states and created the world' first empire |
empire | a large territory or group of many territories governed by one ruler |
