Early Japan: Identity Crisis

Sakoku Foreign relations policy that forbid outsiders from entering Japan.
Daimyo Japanese feudal lord.

Tokugawa Period Important period of Japanese history where Japan was ruled by shoguns.
Tertiary Leaders Leaders who are important, but not at the center of the action.
Bakufu Shogun commander.
