Napoleon born in Corsica, crowned himself Emperor and gained new territory for France
Elba where Napoleon was exiled to...he was punished and had to live on this island
First Estate and Second Estate The wealthy classes of France. Nobles and clergy men belonged here
Third Estate The poor working class of France. 98% of the population belonged to this Estate
Declaration of Rights of Man The French document that proved them free of Estates and were to be equal men.
Reign of Terror When Robespierre led this group of revolutionaries and punishment was death by guillotine
Those that embraced Englightment The 3rd estate- tired of their hardships, they wanted equality for all
French tax system before the war for the Third Estate This group or Estate had to pay most of the taxes (unfair)
The Russians war tactics against Napoleon scorched-earth policy, meaning they burn down all land
French debt problem this problem of France was contributed to upkeep at the Palace of Versailles and high taxes on imported luxury goods
Tennis Court Oath That the Natl Assembly would not dissolve until they had created a new Constitution
Women's March on Versailles 1789 Women were mad b/c of bread shortages
