| Arteries | Any of the muscular-walled tubes forming part of the circulation system by which blood |
| Arterioles | A small branch of an artery leading into capillaries |
| Capillaries | Any of the fine branching blood vessels that form a network between the arterioles and venules |
| Veins | Any of the tubes forming part of the blood circulation system of the blood carrying in most cases oxygen-depleted blood toward the heart |
| Venules | a very small vein, especially one collecting blood from the capillaries |
| Unoxygenated | No oxygen |
| Oxygenated | Containing oxygen |
| Waste Product | An unusable or unwanted substance |
| Carbon Dioxide | a gas stronger than oxygen |
| Endocardium | The thin, smooth membrane that lines inside of the chambers of the heart |
| Myocardium | The muscular tissues of the heart |
| Pericardium | The membrane enclosing the heart, consisting of an outer fibrous layer and an inner double layer of serous membrane |
| Apex | The pointy part of the heart |
| Ventricles | A hollow part or cavity in an organ |
| Aorta | The main artery of the body |
| Pulse | A rhythmical throbbing of the arteries as blood is propelled through them, typically is felt in the wrist or the neck |
