India Timeline*

DateEvent
2500 B.C. The Indus Valley Civilization develops around the Indus River. Its trade is based on crops grown on the fertile river plains. It reaches the height of its power and is larger than any other ancient empire, including that of Egypt.
0 A.D. The date when a timeline goes from B.C. to A.D.
320-550 A.D. After centuries of being split into small kingdoms and republics, India is ruled by the Gupta Empire. Under the rule of the Gupta Kings, Hindu becomes the major religion of the empire.
B.C. Stands for Before Christ
A.D. Stands for anno Domini or After Death
