Nobles The people who led Japan
Nara A Japanese City based upon the chinese city of Chang'an
Shinto The Japanese religion based around nature spirits
Buddhism A religion that the Japanese adopted that teaches to be a good person
Kana The main form of Japanese writing. Based on chinese Kanji
Tanka A form of Japanese poetry. It has a patern of 5, 7, 5, 7, 7.
Buddha Sculpture There were many different buddha sculptures. They came from India to China to Korea, and finally to Japan
Pagoda A building with a slanted roof. It usually had 3, 5, 7, or 9 roofs.
Sho This instrument, along with others, came to Japan from China. It is a mouth organ that was shaped like a phoenix.
Prince Shotoku A leader in Japan who caused many things from other countries to be adapted in Japan.
