| Perspective | Technique that produces the appearance of three dimensions on a flat surface |
| Leonardo Da Vinci | Italian artist who also excelled in astronomy, geometry, and anatomy. He is famous for the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. |
| Michelangelo | Renaissance artist who sculpted the statue Moses and painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome |

| William Shakespeare | The most famous English writer of the Renaissance, author of Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet |
| Elizabethan Age | The period between 1558 and 1603 when Queen Elizabeth ruled England |

| Printing Press | A machine that pressed paper against a tray of movable type |
| Vernacular | A person's native language. |
