| Feudalism | A political and social system in which less powerful pepole loyalty and servince in return for land. |
| Manorialism | The medieval economic system in which people lived in self-sufficient communities run by feudal lords |
| Crusades | Holy wars between Chritians and Muslims for control of Holy land (jerusalem) |
| Black Death | The disease (bubonic plague) that killed 1/3 of europe |
| Commercial Revolution | Led to the concepts of banking, guilds, trade fairs, and capitalism |
| Guild | Association of merchants or artisans who cooperated to protect their economic interests (similar to a union) |
| Pax Mongolia | A time of peace and stability resulting from Mongol conquests |
| Khanates | An area ruled by a Mongolian leader (Khan) |
| Justinian Code | Set of laws in the Byzantine Empire |
