What were common topics of secular music in the Renaissance? Some common topics of secular music in the Renaissance were love songs, political satire dances and dramatic works.
Name at least two famous Renaissance composers and describe the music they wrote. Two famous Renaissance composers were Thomas Tallis (style-choir) and Josquin Des Prez (style-vocal music).
What is a pavane? What is a galliard? What is the difference between the two? A Pavane is a dance in duple time and a galliard is a dance in triple time.
What were two instruments that were popular during the Renaissance? Two instruments that were popular during the Renaissance were a toccata, prelude.
What kind of literary works did Shakespeare write? The kind of literary works that Shakespeare wrote were plays.
What is a bard, and why is Shakespeare sometimes called “The Bard of Avon?” A bard is Shakespeare's nickname, they call him that because he is called that because he was known the best poet ever.
