Migration A change in residence intended to be permanent
Transportation The action of transporting someone or something or the process of being transported.

Pull Factors Something concerning the country to which a person migrates.
Push Factors A flaw or distress that drives a person away from a certain place.
Space Time Compression The reduction in time it takes for people and things to interact and connect due to increased access to technology and transportation advancements.
Distance Decay A function that represents the way that some entity or its influence decays with distance from its geographical location.
Immigration The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country.
Emigration The relocation of people from one country to reside in another.
Intervening Opportunities The presence of a nearer opportunity that greatly diminishes the attractiveness of sites farther away.
Intervening Obstacles An environmental or cultural feature of the landscape that hinders migration.
Technology The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.
