Pharaoh The ruler of the people. God king.
Vizier Second hand man of the Pharaoh.
Mummification To preserve a dead body.
Hieroglyphics Writing that are pictures made by the Egyptian's.
Ideograms A form of writing by making pictures that symbolize something.
Demotic The language of the Egyptian people.
Papyrus A tall grass that grows along a river that was used for paper.
Decipher To translate something unknown.
Hierarchy The social classes like lower, middle, and upper.
Ziggurat A temple in the shape of a pyramid built for religious beliefs.
Cuneiform Writing on clay tablets in a wedge-shape.
Codify To make laws in writing.
Criminal Law The law on assault, murder, and robbery.
Civil Law Law on marriage, divorce, taxes, and property inheritance.
Tolerance When the victor accepts the vanquished.
Satrap A governot during the Persian empire.
Barter Economy To exchange a good for a good.
Money Economy To use money to get a good.
Colony A territory that is ruled and settled by a foreign people.
Alphabet Spoken sounds that get represented by letters.
Monotheistic The believe in one god.
Covenant An agreement that is binding.
Patriarchal The father that isn the head of the family.
Sabbath A Jewish holy day for rest and worship.
Prophet Leader that is spiritual.
Ethics Standards that are moral.
Diaspora To scatter people.
