MWH-Patterns of Iinteraction

TermDefinition
Renaissance A movement that started in Italy that caused an explosion of creativity in art, writing, and thought that lasted from 1300 until 1600.
Vernacular Literary work that is expressed or written in the native language of a place.
Utopia An imaginary island described in Sir Thomas More's Utopia (1516) as enjoying perfection in law, politics, etc.
Council of Trent The ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic Church that met at Trent intermittently from 1545 to 1563, and defined church doctrine and condemned the Reformation.
Protestant An adherent of any of those Christian bodies that separated from the Church of Rome during the Reformation, or of any group descended from them.
Peace of Augsburg A 1555 agreement declaring that the religion of each German state would be decided by its ruler.
Catholic Reformation A 16th century movement for religious reform, leading tot he founding of Christian churches that rejected the pope's authority
Perspective A technique in paintings or drawling where the artist adds three dimensions on a flat surface.
