Dysmenorrhea Painful/Difficult menses
Amenorrhea Absence of menstrual period
Menorrhagia Abnormally heavy menses
Preeclampsia A complication of pregnancy, usually after the 20th week, characterized by generalized edema, HTN and proteinuria
Parturition Childbirth
Meconium First feces of a newborn
Primigravida A woman pregnant for the first time
Hysterectomy Surgical removal of the uterus
Metrorrhagia Bleeding in between cycles
Lochia Discharge from the uterus of blood, mucus and tissue during the period after childbirth
Parity (para) Carrying a pregnancy to the point of viability regardless of outcome
amniotomy Artificial rupture of the amniotic sac
Multigravida Pregnant more than once
Gravida The # of pregnancies including current
