what type of diuretic is spironolactone? | potassium sparing diuretic. it blocks the aldosterone receptor |
adverse effects of spironolactone? | hyperkalemia, metabolic acidosis, hormone related sid eeffects (menstrual irregularities and gynecomastia). the latter effect is because of structural similarity to sex hormones. |
