Descending motor pathways

PathwayOriginTermination
Lateral vestibulo-spinal tract (LVST) lateral vestibular nucleus ipsilateral cord, all levels
Medial vestibulo-spinal tract (MVST), runs in descending MLF medial and descending vestibular nuclei bilateral cervical cord, innervates neck muscles
Reticulo-spinal tract medullary and pontine reticular formation contralateral cord, all levels
Rubro-spinal tract red nucleus contralateral cord, mainly cervical in humans
Cortico-spinal tract cerbral cortex, areas 4,6,3,1,2,7 (at least) contralateral cord, all levels
