Burns and Skin cancers

1st degree damage only to epidermis
2nd degree damage through epidermis & into dermis - blisters form between the two layers
3rd degree destroys dermis and epidermis and extends into subcutaneous tissue
basal cell carcinomas a type of skin cancer that doesn't spread to other organs
squamous cell carcinoma a type of skin cancer that can spread to other organs
malignant melanoma most deadly skin cancer, spreads to other organs
