Skeletal system | protects and supports body organs muscle attachment for movement site of blood cell formation stores minerals |
Muscular system | produces movements maintains posture produces heat |
Nervous system | fast acting control system responds to internal and external change activates muscle glands |
Endocrine system | secretes regulatory hormones (growth, reproduction, metabolism) |
Cardiovascular system | transport materials in body by blood pumped by heart oxygen carbon dioxide nutrients wastes |
lymphatic system | returns fluids to blood vessels cleanses the blood involved in immunity |
Respiratory system | keeps blood supplied with oxygen removes carbon dioxide |
Digestive system | breaks down food nutrient absorption to blood eliminates indigestible material as feces |
urinary system | eliminates nitrogenous waste maintains acid and base balance regulates water and electrolytes |
Reproductive system | produces offspring testes produces sperm and male hormone ovaries produce eggs and female hormones |
