| Myxedema | facial edema |
| Edema | collection of fluid in the skin- like swelling. |
| Goiter | enlargement of the thyroid due to lack of iodine needed to secrete T3 and T4 |
| Midget | similar to a dwarf, but midgets have torso/head and limbs in proportion to each other. |
| Metabolic syndrome | a diabetic based disorder where the cells become resistant to insulin. The pancreas compensates by making more insulin/ Over time the insulin producing cells “wear out” and die, causing less insulin to me made. |
