SKIN LESIONS RELATED TO BLOOD

| petechia | pinhead-size bleeding spot in the skin or mucous membrane |
| petechial | pertaining to or characterized by petechia |
| ecchymosis | A condition of large bleeding spots, patches, or blotches in the skin or mucous membrane |
| ecchymotic | pertaining to or characterized by large patches of bleeding |
| pupura | a bleeding disorder characterized by purple blotches on the skin or mucosa due to numerous petechiae and ecchymoses |
| pupuric | pertaining to or characterized by pupura |
| extravasation | the escape of fluid (e.g. blood or serum) from blood vessels into surrounding tissue |
| hematoma | a swelling containing blood, occuring in tissue or organs (e.g. a black eye or a bruise) |
