What is Japan's Highest point? Mount Fuji 3,776 meters high
How many MAIN islands of Japan? Four main islands Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu
What is the Japanese Climate in General? Climate is generally rainy; high humidity Climate is also Diverse. Climatic ranges from warm summers and long cold winters in north; hot humid summers and short winters in center; and long, hot, humid summers, and mild winters in southwest.
Early in Japan's history, who controlled the society? Japan's society was controlled by a ruling elite. The ruling elite consisted of powerful clans.
Who were the most powerful rulers of Japan in the Third century A.D. ? The most powerful clan was the imperial family in Yamato. Yamato is approx. modern Nara Prefecture or possibly in northern Kyushu. This kingly line claimed their descent was from the gods who created Japan.
Where is Japan located? Japan is in the Pacific Ocean, near the coast of Asia. Longitude and Latitude
Describe the Shinto religion. Shinto means "the way of the gods" Shinto worship gods and spirits which live in trees, rivers, rocks, mountians, and in nature.
What is the name of the family which established the first emporer of Japan? The Yamato clan began the first and only dynasty in Japanese history. Historians believe the Yamato came to power around A.D. 400, and the present Japanese emporer is a descendant of the Yamato.
