Agrarian a type of society or culture based around farming and raising livestock
Biome a major ecological community that corresponds to a climate and is characterized by plants that live there
Human Evolution Represents the evidence-based scientific understanding of the origin and development of humanity
Lifeways The ways in which a group of people live, find food, and behave
Bipedalism a form of motion where an organism moves by its two rear limbs
BCE/ Before common era a non-religious alternative to the use of B.C
CE – Common Era An alternative and non-religious method of notation to the traditional A.D. or Anno Domini
Levee a wall of earth built to prevent a river from flooding its banks
Specialization when different people in society take on different roles or jobs that require unique skill sets
Irrigation system a means of supplying land with water
Human Migration The physical movement by humans from one area to another, sometimes over long distances or in large groups
Account An account is a representation of something that happened in the past.
Event something that actually happened in the past.
Distorted when the shape of an object changes
Evidence Facts or information that can be used to test whether a belief or proposition is true or valid
Opinion What someone thinks about a subject
Fact Something that is true about a subject and can be tested
Corroborate To confirm or give support to a statement, theory, or finding
Internal Consistensy When the facts presented in a single source do not clash with each other
Relative dating determining the age of an object based upon surrounding fossils and geological deposits
Absolute carbon dating the process of determining a specific date of an artifact based on physical or chemical properties of the object
Adaptation The process or state of changing to fit a new environment or different conditions
