Ranching
| Term | Definition |

| Ranching | The action of owning and running cows, horses, sheep, or pigs. |
| Brand | An identification mark used by ranchers to identify their livestock. |
| Branding | Where neighbors get together and help one another brand (put ID mark on). |
| Colt | Young horse usually broke at age 2-3. |
| Calf | Baby cow. |
| Roping | To catch an animal with a rope with a loop in one end and brand, team rope, or calf rope. |
| Moving cows | To move cows to a fresh pasture for food. |
| Calf Roping | A rodeo event where the roper ropes a calf jumps off his horse and ties the calf down |
| Team Roping | Where two ropers (one in the front, one in the back) rope a steer (young male cow) the one in the front ropes his head and the one in the back ropes the heels. |
