Four types of Connective Tissue
Vocabulary Word | Definition |
---|---|
Ligaments | Connect bone to bone, provide stability to joints, have limited elasticity and range of motion. |
Tendons | Connect muscle to bone, located outside the articular capsule, minimum elasticity. |
Cartilage | Provide frictionless surface in a joint, cushions and prevents wear and tear on articular surfaces. |
Fascia | Layer of fibrous material under the skin or covering, separating or joining muscles. |
