Total Fertility Rate The average number of children that would be born to a woman over her lifetime
Mortality Rate Deaths per 1000 individuals per year
Infant Mortality Rate The number of deaths of children less than 1 year old per 1000 live births
Maternal Mortality Rate The number of maternal deaths during or right after per 100,000 women
Crude Birth Rate The total number of live births per 1000 of a population each year
Crude Death Rate The total number of deaths per 1000 individuals per year
Natural Increase Rate The growth of a population brought about as births exceed deaths
Less Developed Countries A non-industrialized or Third World country (poor)
More Developed Countries Industrialized nations characterized by high per capita incomes, low birth and death rates, low population growth rates, and high levels of industrialization and urbanization
Level of Income The consumption and savings opportunity gained by an entity within a specified timeframe
