ADULT ONE RESCUER CPR 1 ADULT ONE RESCUER CPR -Check scene for safety -Determine unresponsiveness and check for breathing -If no response and/or breathing, activate emergency response system. Get AED if possible.
ADULT ONE RESCUER CPR 2 -Check pulse-no more than 10 seconds -If no pulse, begin cycles of 30 COMPRESSIONS & 2 BREATHS -Recheck pulse after every 5 cycles (2 min.)
ADULT TWO RESCUER CPR 1 -After checking scene for safety, 1st rescuer checks responsiveness & breathing -If no response, 2nd rescuer activates emergency response system and gets while 1st rescuer checks pulse and begins compressions if necessary
ADULT TWO RESCUER CPR 2 -When 2nd rescuer returns, 1st rescuer will give compressions while 2nd rescuer gives breaths at rate of 30:2 - Recheck pulse and switch positions after every 5 cycles
AED 1 -Turn on AED -Attach pads and plug in connector -AED will analyze rhythm (be sure to STAND CLEAR whenever rhythm is analyzed or shock given)
AED 2 -If shock advised, administer shock -After giving 1 shock, resume CPR immediately for 2 minutes with 5 cycles of 30 compressions & 2 breaths
ADULT RESCUE BREATHING 1 -Check scene for safety -Determine unresponsiveness and check for breathing -If no response and breathing, activate emergency response system. Get AED if possible.
ADULT RESCUE BREATHING 2 -Check pulse-no more than 10 seconds -if victim has pulse but no breathing, give 1 breath every 5-6 seconds. Recheck pulse after 2 minutes.
ADULT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 1 Conscious victim- -Get behind victim. Make a fist with thumb inside & cover with other hand -Position just above victim’s navel -Administer abdominal thrusts (or chest thrusts if needed)
ADULT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 2 Unconscious victim- -If victim loses consciousness, activate emergency response system -Perform CPR. Every time you open airway for breaths, open victim’s mouth to look for obstruction. Remove obstruction if you see it.
CHILD ONE RESCUER CPR 1 -Check scene for safety -Check for responsiveness & breathing -If possible, send someone to activate the emergency response system and get the AED. (If alone, stay with the child for 2 minutes of care UNLESS the child has suddenly collapsed)
CHILD ONE RESCUER CPR 2 -Check pulse for 5-10 seconds -If no pulse, start CPR with ratio of 30 compressions and 2 breaths. Use 1 or 2 hands for compressions. -Recheck pulse after every 5 cycles
CHILD TWO RESCUER CPR -Check scene for safety -Rescuer 1 checks responsiveness and breathing while Rescuer 2 activates EMS and gets the AED -Check pulse for 5-10 seconds. -If no pulse, start CPR with ratio of 15 compressions & 2 breaths.
CHILD RESCUE BREATHING 1 -Check scene for safety -Check for responsiveness & breathing -If no response, send someone to Activate EMS if possible. If alone, stay with the victim and give care for 2 minutes before activating EMS.
CHILD RESCUE BREATHING 2 -Check pulse for 5-10 seconds -If victim clearly has a pulse, give rescue breaths at a rate of 1 breath every 3-5 seconds. -Check pulse again every 2 minutes.
CHILD AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION Conscious victim-follow same guidelines for adult except thrusts would not be as forceful; may need to kneel when giving thrusts Unconscious victim- follow same guidelines for adult; never do a blind finger sweep-only sweep if you can see the object
INFANT ONE RESCUER CPR 1 -Check scene for safety -Check responsiveness & breathing -If no response,shout for help and send someone to activate EMS if possible. If alone, give care for 2 minutes before activating EMS.
INFANT ONE RESCUER CPR 2 -Check pulse at brachial artery for 5-10 Seconds. -If no pulse, start CPR with a ratio of 30 compressions and 2 breaths per cycle. Position 2 fingers in center of chest just below nipple line. Push hard and fast. -Recheck pulse every 5 cycles.
INFANT TWO RESCUER CPR 1 -Check scene for safety -Rescuer 1 checks responsiveness and breathing while Rescuer 2 activates EMS and gets AED if possible.
INFANT TWO RESCUER CPR 2 -Rescuer 1 checks pulse for 5-10 seconds -If no pulse, start CPR with a ratio of 15 compressions and 2 breaths. Use 2 thumbs encircling technique for Giving compressions.
INFANT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 1 Conscious- -Recognize the signs(infant cannot cough or cry, turning blue) -Position infant prone with head lower than chest;give 5 backslaps
INFANT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 2 Unconscious- -Establish unresponsiveness -Activate EMS if not alone
INFANT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 1.1 Conscious -Turn infant on back,keeping head lower than chest;give 5 chest thrusts -Repeat until effective or infant loses Consciousness
INFANT AIRWAY OBSTRUCTION 2.1 -Perform CPR (30 compressions & 2 breaths),except that you should perform a tongue-jaw lift & finger sweep before giving breaths if you see the object.Never perform a blind finger sweep. -If alone, activate EMS after 2 minutes.
