Dark Ages A period of cultural decline that took place in Western Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire. During this time people who disagreed with the Catholic church were persecuted. Education and learning was limited to a few people.
Mohammed and 5 Pillars of Islam 600AD Mohammed was prophet of Islam religion. 5 pillars: worship, belief, charitable giving, fasting during month of Ramadan, pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during lifetime.
Eight parts of speech 790-1100 AD noun, pronoun, verb adverb, adjective, pronoun, preposition, conjunctions, interjections. Favorite interjection? Oh my!
Vikings 790-1100 AD Vikings came from Sweden, Norway and Denmark. They explored and settled in many distant lands.
Crusades 790-1100 Time when Catholic church sponsored soldiers to go to the Holy Land area to defeat the Muslim Turks that were occupying it. Crusades to the Holy Land went on for almost 300 years.
Magna Carta 1215 King of England signed an agreement that shared power with English noblemen. It was the first time royalty had to recognize the rights of some of its citizens.
Inca Roads and quipus Inca roads connected all of the different cities and were used by traders, messengers, soldiers and people to travel. It was one of the first roadways and kept the empire working smoothly
Black Death/plague Was spread by fleas that lived on black rats. In 6 years it spread across Europe killing 1 of every 3 persons.
