Economic Geography 3

TermDefinition
Economy the management of the resources of a community, country, etc.
Economic Geography the branch of geography concerned with the production and distribution of commodities
Gross domestic product The monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time period, though GDP is usually calculated on an annual basis.
Gross national product An economic statistic that includes GDP, plus any income earned by residents from overseas investments, minus income earned within the domestic economy by overseas residents.
literacy rates The number of people that are literate (able to read and write) in an area. It is usually displayed as a percentage.
health care social insurance for the ill and injured.
Life expectancy The average period that a person may expect to live.
birth rate The number of live births per thousand of population per year
industrialization the development of industry on an extensive scale.
