The Holocaust!

TermDefinition
Anti-Semitism prejudice against Jews.
Genocide The deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial/political/cultural group.
Holocaust A through destruction involving extensive loss of life often through fire.
Nazism The political philosophy, based on extreme nationalism, racism, and militaristic expansion the Adolf Hitler put into practice in Germany from 1933-1945.
Master Race According to Hitler the so called "pure" Germans who, because of their supposed racial superiority had the right to conquer and rule other people.
Propaganda A kind of biased communication designed to influence people's thoughts and actions.
Ghettos A city neighborhood in which a certain minority group (Jews) were forced to live.
Concentration Camps A prison camp operated by the Nazi Germany in which Jews and others considered to be enemies of Hitler were starved while doing slave labor and/or were murdered.
Lebensraum German word for "living space."
Corruption Inducement to do wrong by lawful or improper means.
Kristallnacht "Night of Broken Glass." Day in 1938 where Anti-Semitic riots broke out and Jewish homes, businesses, and synagogues were destroyed. 30,000 Jews were rounded up and taken to concentration camps.
Commandants Concentration camp leaders.
Crematorium Building in which corpses are cremated.
Nuremberg Trials The court proceedings held in Nuremberg, Germany, after World War II, in which Nazi leaders were tried for war crimes.
