| Anti-Semitism | prejudice against Jews |
| genocide | the deliberate & systematic destruction of a racial/political/cultural group |
| holocaust | a thorough destruction involving extensive loss of life often through fire |
| Nazism | the political philosophy, based on extreme nationalism, racism, and militaristic expansion that Adolf Hitler put into practice in Germany from 1933-1945 |
| Master Race | according to Hitler the so called "pure" Germans who, because of their supposed racial superiority had the right to conquer and rule other people |
| propaganda | a kind of biased communication designed to influence people's thoughts and actions |
| ghettos | a city neighborhood in which a certain minority group (Jews) were forced to live |
| concentration camps | a prison camp operated by the Nazi Germany in which Jews and others considered to be enemies of Hitler were starved while doing slave labor and/or were murdered |
| lebensraum | German word for "living space" |
| corruption | inducement to do wrong by unlawful or improper means |
| Kristallnacht | "Night of Broken Glass"; day in 1938 where Anti-Semitic riots broke out and Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues were destroyed- 30,000 Jews were rounded up and taken to concentration camps |
