| bureaucracy | A system of government in which most of the important decisions are made by state officials rather than by elected representatives |
| Village | A group of houses and associated buildings, larger than a hamlet and smaller than a town, situated in a rural area. |

| Civilization/Advanced Societies | complex culture where large numbers of people share a number of common elements (social structure, religion art) |
| Complex Institution | structure that governs people around it , has many function and effects (ex. religion) |
| Currency | A system of money or items in general use in a particular country |
| Deity | A god or goddess (in a polytheistic religion): "a deity of ancient Greece" |
| Democracy | A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives (government by the people) |
| Dharma | the principle or law that orders the universe |
| Diffusion | spread of ideas from one culture to another |
| Dynastic Cycle | theory that states that every time there is a new ruler a new dynasty begins (rise and fall) |
| Egalitarian | Of, relating to, or believing in the principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. |
| Ethical/legal Codes | a system of principles governing morality and acceptable conduct;a code of laws adopted by a state or nation; "a code of laws" |
| Frontier | A line or border separating two countries |
| Ice Age | Any of several cold periods during which glaciers covered much of the Earth |
| Irrigation systems | It brings water to places where water isn't or is not in great enough abundance |
| Karma | (in Hinduism and Buddhism) The sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in their later life (cause & effect) |
| Pagan | a person who is not a Christian, Jew, or Muslim ; follower of a polytheistic religion |
| Pastoralism | growing/maintaining of herds through migration of animals through pastures |
| Polygamy | The practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time |
| Sericulture | The production of silk and the rearing of silkworms for this purpose. |
| Specialization of Labor | division of labour to produce large number of goods at the lowest possible cost (specific tasks and roles) |
| Syncretism | Reconciliation or fusion of differing systems of belief (language , religion) |
| Theocracy | A system of government in which priests rule in the name of God or a god.(Divine rule) |
