Geocentric Theory Theory that the Earth was the center of the universe

Sans-culotte Everyday supporters of the revolution who wore pants

bourgeoisie Members of the French middle class who sought equality with the First and Second Estates, propelling the Revolution
coup d'etat An overthrow of the government
Plebiscite A vote of the people
Lycees Government-run public schools
Concordat An agreement (like the one signed between Napoleon and Pope Pius VII)
