TermDefinition
Zionism the movement for Jews to have a homeland. There were many helping countries out of saddness.
Anit-Semitism the discrimination against Jews. They were also pushed around the entire globe by many different countries.
Holocaust when Germans tried to eliminate all the Jews
Colonization When a country is starting, or continues to spread out and colonize other lands.
Civil War when two groups in one country fight against each other
Ottoman Empire an empire that was on the losing side of WWI
Nationalism When people believe in freedom for all poeple. Many people all over the world are nationalist.
Independence When people have the freedom to do what they like. EX: South Africa, India, and China.
Chang Kia-shek The past leader of the chinese nationalist party
Mao Zedong The past leader of the chinese communist party.
Kummntang Nationalist party before communist party took over in china.
Communism A tye of government that makes the rich poor and the poor a little richer, or a little poorer
Great Leap Forward The movement by Mao Zedong to try and raise the GDP of China.
Cultural Revolution A movement by Mao Zedong to undo all ties to the past China.
Tianammen Square A mass killing of peaceful protesting students were open fired on by troops and police. Many killed and arrested.
