Zionism The movement the Jews took to retake their homeland, Canaan.
Anti-Semitism The hatred of the Jews for no reason.
Holocaust Period of time during WWII, led by Hitler, Jews were prosecuted and attempted genocide.
Colonization Colonizing regions for its natural resources, Imperialism.
Civil War War where two of the same country, religion, or ethnic group goes to war with eachtoher.
Ottoman Empire Empire ruled from early 400 B.C to the end of WWI. Joined Germany in WWI and was defeated, ending the Ottoman Empire.
Nationalism The feeling of strong loyalty for your country and you will give your life for it.
Independence Ruled by your own country, self-governed, independent.
Chiang Kai-Chek Leader of the Nationalist party for China before Moa Zedong came to power.
Mao Zedong Communist leader for after the Civil War between the Nationalist and the Communist. First Chairman of the communist party in China.
Kuomintang Nationalist party in China, led by Chiang Kai-Chek.
Communism Government and economy ruled by the government, almost no self freedoms, no set Admendments.
Great Leap Forward Mao Zedong led this period of time to "modernize" the Chinese world.
Cultural Revolution Led by Mao Zedong to eliminate all "old" ideas and religions/culters.
Tianaman Square Protests for more personnal freedoms, many student protestors were shot and killed.
