TermDefinition
Zionism The movement to get the jews their homeland from the Arabs.
Anti-Semitism The hating of the Jews.
Holocaust The massacre of over six million Jews during WWII.
Colonization Taking over a country.
Civil War War between the Russians and the USA.
Ottoman Empire An empire that was the largest in world war one, it lost most of its empire from being on the losing side of the first world war.
Nationalism Being loyal to your country no matter what is at stake.
Independence Being able to live your life on your own.
Chaing Kai-Shek The leader of china before Mao Zedong came into power.
Mao Zedong The old leader of china who started the Great Leap forward and the Cultural Revolution.
Kuomintang Nationalist party of China before China became communist.
Communism The goverment of modern day China.
Great Leap Forward A movement to try to get the farming industry better, but turned out to be a great leap backward. This was lead by china's leader, Mao Zedong.
Cultural Revolution Another movement to try to get ride of the four olds in china. This was lead by Mao Zedong.
Tianammen Square The massacer of the chinese who were getting a little taste of democracy and freedom from communism.
